Singapore-South Korea Joint Grant Call

AI Singapore (AISG) and the Institute for Information & Communication Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), South Korea have launched a joint grant call to provide funding for research on:

AI-based net-zero energy building management optimisation systems

The joint grant call aims to support the development of scientific and technological cooperation between Singaporean and South Korean researchers.

The research should encompass (but is not limited to):

  • Addressing data availability and system integration issues for building AI models to optimise and manage energy efficiency
  • Leveraging AI technologies for analysing and optimising the usage patterns and carbon emissions of various energy sources (e.g., heat, electricity, etc.) of buildings
  • Developing AI-enabled processes and digital twins that would allow for energy efficiency models to be test-bedded with high accuracy of actual performance
  • Utilising AI technologies to ensure thermal comfort for building occupants in climate settings of both countries

Total Grant Quantum: S$1,600,000+

Project Period: 2 Years (1 July 2023 – 30 June 2025)
Desired Outcome: MVP (test-bedded in Singapore & South Korea)
TRL: 4-6

We invite applications from local Institutes of Higher Learning and Research Institutes, in collaboration with South Korean research and development organisations. To apply for the grant, the joint research team should be led by one Principal Investigator from Singapore and one from South Korea, and comprise at least one industry partner from each country.

Programme Structure
